Arabian Nights Orchestra - The band Arabian Nights Orchestra consists of arab and danish musicians, all living in Copenhagen, Denmark. Omar Moad: Arabic keyboard Omar Moad is the driving force behind the music of Arabian Nights Orchestra. He has a a huge repertoire of classical arabic pop music that he has been playing at parties, weddings etc in the middle east. Omar has lived in Denmark for a couple of years and come originally from Palestine. Naser Alharbi: Violin and vocal Naser Alharbi is educated as a musician and composer at Bagdad University of Fine Arts. Naser is well konwn in especially Iraq as a singer and musician. See this youtube-video. In Danmark he has also been playing with the Middle East Peace Orchestra for a longer period. Klaus Mogensen: Turkish saz/buzuq Klaus Mogensen started playing turkish saz in year 2000 and has since then got lessons from turkish saz players in Denmark and abroad. Mohamed Sultan: Tabla (darbuka) Mohammad Sultan is from Jordan and learned to play at the National Institute of Music. In Jordan he played with the band Gawnma. Later he has played with bands all over Europe, fx in Germany, France and Sweden. See this youtube-video. Mikosh: Oriental dance and percussion Mikosh is danish, but has heard and played turkish music since childhood. He plays tabla and riqq - and is a very talented oriental dancer besides. Marianne Mogensen: Oriental dance and percussion Marianne Mogensen has been dancing bellydance from childhood, and later related styles like gypsydance and assorted fusion-dances. She plays mostly framedrums like riqq and tar. Marianne teaches oriental dance and drum rhythms. |
